Learner Driver, Container Truck Collide at Ile-Ile Bus Stop, No Serious Injury Reported
A Toyota Camry bearing a learner-driver sign collided with an oncoming container truck at Ile-Ile Bus Stop on Saturday evening, causing significant traffic disruption but no serious injury was reported. Kosofe Inside Out reporter Olawale Ibrahim, who witnessed the incident, said the truck driver braked quickly after noticing the car in his path. The precise circumstances leading to the collision have not yet been officially established.
What could have developed into a much more serious road accident ended without any reported casualty at Ile-Ile Bus Stop on Saturday, September 19.
KOSOFE INSIDE OUT reporter Olawale Ibrahim, who was at the scene and witnessed the incident, said a Toyota Camry displaying a learner-driver sign was being driven by a woman wearing a hijab, with a man Ibrahim identified as her husband seated beside her and apparently guiding her.
According to Ibrahim, the Camry moved into the path of an approaching container truck, prompting the truck driver to brake immediately.
“The truck driver noticed that the car was coming wrongly towards him and immediately applied his brakes. If he had not reacted that quickly, it could have been a very serious accident,” Ibrahim said.
Despite the collision, Ibrahim reported no death or serious injury at the scene.
The incident quickly attracted residents, traders and other road users, while traffic built up around Ile-Ile Bus Stop as motorists struggled to navigate the affected section of the road.

While Ibrahim witnessed the incident, the exact circumstances that caused the Camry to enter the truck’s path remain unconfirmed. KOSOFE INSIDE OUT had also not obtained an official account from traffic or emergency authorities as of the time of filing this report.
