Residents have been asking how to check their names on INEC’s voters’ register following KIO’s report on today’s deadline. With the preliminary register-display exercise scheduled to end on Thursday, October 15, here are the available ways to check and report errors.
INEC directs voters to its official verification portal:
https://cvr.inecnigeria.org/vvs
The portal allows voters to search using their Voter Identification Number, known as VIN, or their name and date of birth. Enter the details as supplied during registration.
Where location details are requested, select Lagos State and Kosofe Local Government Area. Residents of Agboyi-Ketu and Ikosi-Isheri should also select Kosofe as their electoral LGA.
Residents can alternatively visit their designated INEC registration-area or ward display centre to inspect the preliminary register. Taking a PVC or registration slip, where available, can help officials locate the record.
Check your name, photograph and polling-unit details. If your name is missing or any information is incorrect, ask the official handling claims and objections how to formally report it. An online search does not automatically submit a correction.
INEC’s announced nationwide display period runs from October 9 to 15, according to the timetable reiterated by Lagos Resident Electoral Commissioner Ayobami Salami on behalf of the commission’s chairman.
Today’s deadline concerns the register-display exercise. PVC collection continues beyon
d this period.
