Tizeti subscribers in affected parts of Kosofe lost internet access for three hours on Sunday morning after a faulty cable connection disrupted the provider’s network, according to the Nigerian Communications Commission’s outage tracker.
The interruption lasted from 7am to 10am on October 18, 2026, with Agege and Ifako-Ijaiye also listed as affected areas.
KIO’s examination of the regulator’s incident record confirmed that service was marked restored following the replacement of a faulty patch cord, a short cable connecting network equipment.
The repair update was logged at 11:53am, separately from the recorded restoration time of 10am. Both times are West Africa Time.
Although the incident heading describes a “fibre cut”, the detailed diagnosis identifies a faulty patch cord. The resolution note states: “Faulty patch cord replaced.” The record does not explain the difference in classification.
The notice confirms a disruption affecting Kosofe but does not identify individual streets, neighbourhoods or the number of subscribers disconnected. It should therefore not be interpreted as an outage affecting every Tizeti customer across the local government area.
Subscribers whose connections remained unavailable after the recorded restoration time should report the continuing problem to Tizeti, providing their location, when service stopped and any existing complaint reference.
The regulator’s record establishes when the interruption occurred and the repair reported. What remains unclear is which Kosofe communities were affected and whether any subscribers experienced difficulties beyond the three-hour window.
