Six Hours Every Two Days’: Ifako Customer Questions Electricity Supply
🔍 View Full

An electricity customer in Ifako has questioned the supply he receives from Ikeja Electric, saying his household gets about six hours of power every two days despite being classified under Band B.

Orebola Oresanwo, posting on X as @bolaores, shared the complaint alongside a screenshot of a customer notification attributing an outage to load shedding by the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN.

“This you are sending to a Band B customer after getting 6 hours every 2 days in Ifako,” he wrote in a reply to Ikeja Electric, tagging Kosofe Inside Out and other community platforms.

Oresanwo contrasted his experience with what he described as apologies to Band A customers when their supply falls below 20 hours. His post raises a question for affected households: what level of service can they expect, and when will the outages end?

The message he shared stated that the outage was “as a result of load shedding from TCN”. It asked customers to exercise patience while work continued with relevant stakeholders to restore supply.

However, the notification shown in the screenshot gave no restoration deadline, named no affected feeder and did not explain the transmission constraint or how much supply customers should expect during the disruption.

Kosofe Inside Out has not independently verified Oresanwo’s tariff classification, the supply hours he reported or the origin and date of the attached notification. His account represents one customer’s experience and does not establish supply conditions across Ifako.

The screenshot also contains no specific response from Ikeja Electric to his complaint.

For residents trying to plan around outages, the unanswered questions are practical: which streets and feeders are affected, how long will the disruption last, and what supply will be available in the meantime? A feeder-specific explanation and a clear restoration update would give households more useful information than a general appeal for patience.
