A large crowd of Muslim faithful gathered at Mile 12 on Wednesday as Aljamhiyatu Toreeqat Sheikh Ahmad Tijaniyy and Sheikh Ibrahim Nnyass, in collaboration with the Arewa Muslim Community, Mile 12, Ikosi-Isheri and Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, organised a grand rally to mark the 2026 Maolid Nabiyy.
The event attracted a large turnout of worshippers and community members, with participants taking part in various activities and displays to commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
As the celebration continued, the gathering had a major impact on movement around the Mile 12 axis. The entire stretch around the overhead bridge and the road underneath was heavily congested, while the route leading towards Ajelogo and Akanimodo was completely blocked at the time of filing this report.
The large crowd and activities around the celebration created significant difficulty for motorists, commuters and other road users attempting to pass through the area.
The Moulud celebration, however, remained lively, with participants displaying banners and other forms of celebration as they marked the occasion.
