A new grassroots political and community development group, Omoadugbo Progressives, has emerged in Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), with a stated commitment to community development, accountable governance and the advancement of indigenous political participation.

The group, which recently announced its formation, said it intends to provide a platform through which residents can collectively advocate for improved infrastructure, social welfare and sustainable development across the LCDA.

According to the group, its activities will be anchored on three major objectives: community betterment, demanding democratic dividends and supporting qualified local aspirants.

Omoadugbo Progressives said it would prioritise initiatives capable of improving the welfare and living conditions of residents, including infrastructure, social development and other community-focused interventions.

The group also plans to engage relevant authorities at both the local and state levels on issues affecting residents, with emphasis on ensuring that public resources and government development programmes reach communities within Ikosi-Isheri.

Beyond community advocacy, the group said it would support qualified members seeking elective political positions.

It described the initiative as an effort to strengthen indigenous participation in politics and provide a more coordinated platform for members of the community interested in public service.

The emergence of Omoadugbo Progressives adds another voice to the growing grassroots political activity within Ikosi-Isheri ahead of future political contests.

The group is expected to embark on further mobilisation and community engagement as it works to establish its presence across the LCDA.
